How long after being given ILR can I apply for a British Passport ?
Not sure on that one and as you well know the govt are continually moving the goal posts. Personally i feel that when you qualify for indefinite leave to remain you should be able to obtain a UK passport immediately. Many people are just not aware of the costs and trauma associated with the immigration procedure. The life in the Uk test is nothing more than a pub quiz where you need to remember dates and percentages parrot fashion from a book The immigration ( border agency ) authorities are in my opinion, incompetent, over paid hooray Henrys,whose only objective is to waste the hard earned money paid out in extortianate visa fees, and failed visa applications of thousands of genuine applicants,( and taxpayers money ), whilst at the same time granting immigration for known terrorists,who can not even speak English.
