How long after a person dies is the funeral and the burial?

I think it depends upon the family. My cousin Shannon died on a Wednesday and her funeral was on a Friday. My dad died on a Tuesday and we held the funeral on Friday. We wanted to do it Saturday, but the town was having a festival and it wouldn’t have worked out. So, I guess anywhere from the day after to 5 or 6 days later.
