The current rule/regulation (Chapter 2, section 14) in the Wyoming Pharmacy Rules and Regulations states that: any prescription shall by considered null and void when the pharmacist learns that the professional relationship between a practitioner and patient has been terminated for any reason. The Board of Pharmacy is considering a rewrite of this section in response to public demand. The Board does consider the rule to be harsh and seeks to provide a time interval in which pharmacies are allowed to honor the prescriptions for a given amount of time sufficient for a patient to find a new primary healthcare provider. Currently the Board has allowed a general time period of six weeks for pharmacies to honor these types of prescriptions. The thought is that patients should be able to find a new primary care physician within that time period. It is encouraged that the pharmacist plays a proactive role in helping these patients seek out a new healthcare provider to take responsibility fo
