How long a delay is expected for ferry travel from dover, apparently the roads are bad?
All ferry operators out of Dover are reporting disruption due to bad weather. However they are not specifying any timescales as to the delays and disruption being experienced. Eurostar have suspended all services to and from continental Europe for today, Sunday 20th December. Road conditions around the Dover area are chaotic: M20 Kent – Closed coast-bound due to Operation Stack between J8, Leeds Castle and J9, Ashford North. Diversion in operation – Non-commercial traffic is being diverted on to the A20 and lorries are being directed back onto the M20 to be parked A2 Kent – Severe delays and stationary traffic coast-bound between Whitfield and Port of Dover Roundabout, in Dover. Tailbacks for four miles Conditions are just as bad, if not worse in Nord Pas de Calais & Picardie with heavy falls of snow on the A16, A26, A25, RN225 and RN42 making driving conditions very difficult.
