When 19-year-old Antwon Horton was shot and killed in August 2007, his death drew little notice. Neither did the arrest of Horton’s alleged killer, Damario Dillard. But prosecutors say the slaying was part of an escalating gang dispute that has left several young men dead throughout the Seattle area. As Dillard’s second-degree murder case goes to the jury for a decision, prosecutors also are preparing to try an alleged gang founder in the slaying of a rival. Presenting closing arguments to a King County jury Monday, Deputy Prosecutor Val Richey restated the case he’s been attempting to prove against Dillard for the past month.
