To get same-day processing at the full postage rate, you must have your mail to P&D no later than 5:00 p.m. However, if you want your mail metered at a discounted rate, it must arrive at P&D by 2:00 p.m. This allows us to meter the mail and then co-mingle it with all State mail through our sorter in time for delivery to the post office that day. In the event of an extreme emergency, and with sufficient notice to staff, we can continue to meter mail at full rate up to 7:30 p.m. Contact us at (503) 373-1327 or (503) 373-1709 as early in your emergency as possible to discuss what we can do for you.
