AltaLink and EPCOR, the Heartland Project Team, will apply to the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) with preferred and alternate routes. If the project is approved, only one route for the transmission line will be selected by the AUC for construction. The proposed double circuit 500 kilovolt (kV) tower is between 50 and 60 metres (164 and 197 feet) tall. The towers are approximately 365 metres (1,198 feet) apart. The proposed tower arms are 44 metres (144 feet) wide. The tower arms will not go outside the right-of-way.
