It is more than three times the total area of the Maritime Provinces (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island) and would rank fourth in size behind Alaska, Texas and California if it were one of the United States. We’re almost one-and-three-quarters times the size of Great Britain. The island of Newfoundland covers an area of 111,390 km², while Labrador has an area of 294,330 km².
