There is a single small skin graft (about 2 inches by 3 inches) taken when the atresia repair surgery is happening by itself. Larger skin grafts (about 3 inches by 4 ½ inches for the Medpor) in addition to the graft necessary for the atresia repair are used when the atresia repair surgery is combined with the Medpor auricular reconstruction.
