How large an area will one MKS protect?
The MKS will protect an area of approximately one acre depending on breeding sites, shrubbery, fences, buildings, environmental changes, winds and temperatures. Depending on the size of the property and the terrain, it could take more than one unit to reduce the mosquito population in some areas. However, much of this is dependant more on the mosquito than it is on the MKS. Therefore, it’s not whether or not the MKS sufficiently covers one acre or not, it has to do with the territorial instincts of the mosquito. Mosquitoes don’t travel far and they typically stay within about 100 yards of where they hatch, thus the trap can reduce the mosquito population within their normal travel and feeding range or “territory”. If that is up to 100’ or so in each direction, that means it covers approximately one acre. Once it has reduced the population on your property, it then stands guard as a maintenance system working to catch and destroy any new mosquitoes that may cross over into the territory
