How Jewish is the curriculum?

0

We teach about the Jewish holidays and host a weekly Havdalah (Mondays at 9:30 am) and Shabbat (Fridays at 10:00 am) for the school. We teach human and universal values, but because we are a JCC, we teach them through a Jewish lens with the Hebrew phrases. These include Tikkun Olam (healing the world), Tzedakah (charity and justice) and equal rights for all. Because our school is made up of Jewish, interfaith and non-Jewish families, we do not assume that every child and parent practices or knows all the aspects of Judaism. Therefore, we do some parent education about what the children are learning about and why.
