How is Yellow Emerald™ premium golden beryl similar to/different from emeralds?
Golden beryl and green emeralds share the same composition in terms of species. Each is a hexagonal crystal with similar gemological properties. The differences, however, include the trace elements that dictate colors, issues of durability and inclusion occurrence, and today, price. While chromium fosters green in an emerald, ferric iron is responsible for providing the yellow-gold hues of a Yellow Emerald™ premium golden beryl. Green emeralds are frequently riddled with inclusions that can lead to easy breakage and cracks. But our golden beryl carries little to no inclusions, allowing for long-term durability and greater beauty. Often, green emeralds require oiling for added luster, but by virtue of their natural vibrancy, our premium golden beryl needs no oiling. Finally, because our golden beryl is brand new to the jewelry industry (for a limited time!), it can be offered at an introductory price a staggering one-tenth that of a green emerald.
