How is Wizards of the Coast changing the WPN?
In Wizards of the Coast’s continuing global efforts to build strong Magic player communities in hobby stores, we are pleased to announce that we will link Wizards Play Network (WPN) levels to stores effective April 28th. This change will take effect with the Magic 2011 Core Set Prerelease event. Why is Wizards making this change? Wizards of the Coast wants to build strong Magic communities in stores; attaching levels to stores creates a greater connection between players and the stores where they play the games they love. What does this change mean for stores? Stores will now be assigned WPN levels (Gateway, Core and Advanced). Level requirements will not change. We will calculate the store’s level based on all reported organized play activity that occurs in that store. This means that for stores with multiple organizers running store events, the reported activity from all the organizers will be totaled to determine the store’s WPN level. Level requirements can be found at www.wizards.
