Scattered showers in the area became heavy downpours as the front moved across Greater Houston. By noon, the leading edge of the front reached the upper Texas coast. Forecasters said some flooding was possible, especially in low-lying spots, but as of noon the National Weather Service had not issued any watches or warnings. The system caused some freeway flooding in the Dallas-Fort Worth area as it passed through overnight. The temperature climbed into the mid-80s this morning, but the mercury dropped into the upper 60s behind the system. Lows in the upper 50s are expected overnight. S
