How is UWGLA addressing the root causes of poverty?
To keep up with a changing environment, UWGLA has chosen to focus our 10-year goals on providing long-term solutions in three interconnected areas that are the root causes of poverty: • Providing affordable housing and health care. Goal: Invest in programs that provide permanent housing. • Helping students graduate from high school prepared for college and the workforce. Goal: Increase high school graduation rate to 75% • Teaching adults job skills and financial education. Goal: Increase income levels so that families can provide for their own future.
