How is tuition paid for Aboriginal students?
Tuition is the amount received by the district for all students. There are a variety of methods of tuition payment for Aboriginal students. The province funds the School District for most students enrolled on September 30th each year. The funding level is determined buy the Funding Allocation System. However, the federal government has a fiduciary responsibility for Status, On-reserve Aboriginal students, and therefore provides the support for these students. This support is paid to the School District through either the Provincial government or the First Nations Bands.
