How is Transaxillary Breast Augmentation performed?
The site for the implant insertion is the armpit. Following the incision, a tunnel is made under the skin and through the subcutaneous fat, generally using an endoscope. It is this passage that the implant is fed through. The breast implant will necessarily be a saline one, which will be implanted in its deflated state, and filled with saline solute when it is properly in place. Finally, the incision to the armpits will be sutured.
