How is traffic distributed among ECMP and LAG?
A. The E Series uses a hash algorithm to distribute traffic among ECMP paths and LAG members. By default, this hash algorithm uses a 5 tuple consisting of the source IP address, destination IP address, protocol type, TCP/UDP source port, and TCP/UDP destination port. The distribution is based on a flow — a single flow is not distributed and uses only one link. Fragments use a 3-tuple hash algorithm consisting of the source IP address, destination IP address, and protocol type.
