How is the world portrayed in each text?

In BR, the world is bleak, overcrowded and looks like a war zone. Pollution is rampant with continual acid rain, and we only twice see the sky, once with stars, and one with sunshine at the end. Earth has been depleted of resources, and giant zeppelins in the sky push the move for mankind to “Start again” on an off-world colony. In BNW, the world is sterile and clean, with nature existing, not neither embraced nor enjoyed. The most natural area, that is the Reserve, is “fenced off” by high electric fences. This is a symbol that nature has been contained by man.
