How is the University of Leicester supporting staff to get involved in Right to Read?

0

The University of Leicester is supporting this aim by helping to make it easy for employees to participate. Right to Read volunteers from the University of Leicester will use their personal time (typically the equivalent of a lunch hour) to read with the children while the University will release staff to allow for up to half an hour travelling time to and from the school. The Right to Read co-ordinator at the University of Leicester will also organise your training, applications and CRB clearance, facilitate car sharing and help to place you in nearby schools. What happens next? If you are interested in becoming a Right to Read volunteer then the next step is to contact the volunteering team on volunteering@le.ac.uk to find out when the next training session is scheduled. Please discuss your interest in becoming a Right to Read volunteer with your line manager and ensure that you have their support, as volunteering will take place during the working day.
