How is the Uniform Rule to be Interpreted?
All teams are to be in LEGAL UNIFORMS. The rule concerning uniforms can be interpreted in many ways. We have checked with the National Rule Interpretor to get clarification as to what constitutes “SIMILIAR”. First of all – all uniforms shorts MUST be the SAME COLOR!!!! Black and navy blue are not the SAME- therefore please make sure that ALL players are wearing the same colored shorts!!! The Region (and the National Rules Interpretor) will NOT regard bike shorts (spandex) and regular shorts as Similar. In order to qualify as similar, there may only be slight differences, logo, stripe and some material…. Cotton vs. Polyester, NOT spandex. The key word is SLIGHT. (For the Women) Therefore- it is not legal for half the teams to be wearing spandex and half the team wearing regular shorts. Those who wish to wear spandex may wear them as long as they are under the regular shorts and those wearing them are all the same.
