Your doctor works with a pathologist, who is a specialist in diagnosis and tumor tissue analysis, to prepare a tissue specimen from the tumor that was removed during lumpectomy or mastectomy. The pathologist uses a special kit to submit the tumor sample to the Genomic Health Laboratory for analysis.
