• Ruston operates with an elected Mayor and five council members • Municipal Court is held the first Thursday and Friday of each month as well as the fourth Friday. The Court Clerk can be contacted at Town Hall, (253) 759-8545 Monday-Friday, 9 am-3:45 pm. • An Ordinance sets the law for the Town of Ruston. A Resolution expresses Council’s policies or opinions. Each item is discussed and voted on individually. • Council meetings are held the first and third Monday of each month at the nearby Joyce Center (school building) starting at 7:00 pm (5219 N Shirley) • Occasionally executive sessions are held to allow the Council to meet in closed session to discuss complaints, real estate purchases or lawsuits. These sessions are not open to the public and no decisions are made during these sessions.
