How is the TLC Telecine Speed or Gauge set with the TLC2 connected to a 2K Color Corrector?
When the External TLC2 is connected to a telecine via a 2K Color Corrector, there is no direct feedback from the telecine with respect to speed and gauge status. If you recall, traditional TLC systems would have some sort of status displayed, however, this came at the cost of extensive modifications to the telecine. Newer telecine types do not support any modifications for status which may only be available via the serial control link. Since we are basically talking about Speed and Gauge, it was determined that manually setting these items directly on the TLC2 would be the quickest and most reliable method. Telecine Speed To set the telecine speed on the TLC2, simply hit the V-Speed key and enter the four digit speed as desired. No colon is necessary. To enter 23.98, simply enter 2398 followed by the Enter key. It is important to note the “key” TLC locked speeds for proper synchronization and operation. These are “23.98”, “29.97”, and “25.00”.
