How is the thermal resistance before reaching the phase change temperature ?
Before reaching the phase change temperature for the first time, the phase change material is stiff and the thermal contact resistance as well as the total resistance of the thermal flow are high. The reasons being that the air still present in the micro pores between the contact surfaces. First when exceeding the phase change temperature does the thermal contact resistance sink to a minimum and remains in this condition. This also depends on the pressure applied.
