TAS KA3 is a ceramic heating system capable of emitting exactly the right amount of heat to gently maintain the water mattress at the required temperature. There is no risk of a safe temperature being exceeded even in the unlikely event of a control system failure. The heat is transmitted upwards, not down into the base.
