How is the Sunlight Foundation funded?
The Sunlight Foundation was launched in April 2006 with a $3.5 million contribution from co-founder and Chairman Michael Klein, a Washington, DC-based attorney and businessman. Beyond Mike Klein’s original contribution, Sunlight is also supported by the Omidyar Network, which provided a grant of $2 million for 2007, and by individuals and foundations.
