How is the Student Union being paid for?
Why do we need a new Student Union? Currently most student activities are spread out around campus. The new Student Union is being constructed to serve the needs of our growing student population and expanding campus. It will provide the store, retail, food service, meeting and events spaces and technology that our students will count on to be successful while at UNCC. Currently, the bulk of student programming and activities occurs in the Cone University Center. However, with the student population expected to substantially increase in the coming years, the number of student organizations will grow along with the need for more programming and meeting space. An extensive planning effort determined that the Cone Center could not be expanded and that the best solution would be to build a new Student Union. Will there be more room for Student Organizations?
