How is the Society organized?
The basic unit of Omicron Delta Kappa is the collegiate Circle. The national organization consists of all active Circles and alumni clubs of the Society. The ODK Circles are grouped in geographic areas known as Regions. Each Region is led by three Regional Directors. ODK’s Board of Directors consists of a National President, National Vice-President for Extension, National Vice-President for Circle Standards, National Student Vice-President, National Treasurer, Executive Director, Immediate Past National President, two Members-at-Large, two Student Members-at-Large, and the Chair of the Council of Regional Directors. What opportunities are available for students who wish to be involved at the Regional and National level? Regional Director Positions: All active student members of Omicron Delta Kappa are eligible to run for Student Regional Director of their region, which is a 2 year term. The Society is a subsidiary of the MSU Foundation, Inc. and as such, is a tax exempt, non-profit corporation organized for educational, charitable or cultural purposes under section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States. In addition, the society receives staff support from MSU’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations. Q. How is the Society governed? A. A board of Governors is appointed and ratified by the Society at the Annual Meeting each year. Q. When are meetings held? A. Board of Governors meetings are held twice a year, generally in April and October. An Annual meeting of the Society’s active members is held each summer. Both meetings are open to the public. Q. Does the Society have a priority list of projects? A. The first major project of the society has been the establishment of the Breckinridge Commemorative Scholarship Endowment.
