How is the Smart Lipo procedure done?
One of the many marvelous things about Smart Lipo is that the procedure done in an office or clinic. Prior to the procedure, the fatty areas are marked and a local anesthetic, usually lidocane, is used to numb the area. The laser itself is a small hand held device much like a pen. Using a small cannula which is inserted into the skin adjacent to the fatty tissue to be removed and then fired. Upon firing a laser beam of light impacts the tissue causing it to liquefy. This liquid matter is then sucked from the area using a high powered, but totally safe, vacuum. Simultaneously the laser also causes small blood vessels to coagulate immediately on contact, resulting in less bleeding and swelling. The laser also affects the collagen in the skin which later causes the skin to tighten and shrink. Each session take about 30-45 minutes.
