How is the sewer charge calculated in Farmington?

Until recently the City had a problem with inflow and infiltration into the sewer system. The Metropolitan Sewer Commission billed the City for treating this water as though it was sewer. These charges were passed on to our customers which meant higher sewer fees. The City has made tremendous improvements in its sewer system since that time with rates that are competitive with comparable cities.
