that last makes little sense to me. The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday which is 40 days before Easter. Easter is celebrated on the Sunday following the first full moon of the vernal equinox. This year,2009, the first full moon of the vernal equinox occurred on Thursday, April 9th and therefore Easter was celebrated on Sunday, April 12th. Ash Wednesday was February 25th.
