How is the S.T.A.R. Puppy Program related to the AKC Canine Good Citizen program?
The skills on the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program evaluation are the “pre-CGC” skills. However, puppies do not have to take the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy evaluation to take the CGC test. The S.T.A.R. Puppy Program was developed as the result of ongoing requests from owners and CGC ealuators to have a program before the CGC that was designed especially for puppies and their owners.
