The following components are present in the Remote Sensing Field Guide – Desert (also referred to as the Desert Field Guide or Desert Guide): • Introduction – This is an introduction to the Desert Guide. It’s contained in the top level directory as the file sysintro.htm. • Summaries – The user is presented a textual menu, in hierarchical form, of features/patterns each corresponding to a single Summary page. The Summary page describes the feature/pattern in general terms. Each Summary page links with the corresponding Pattern Indicator pages that illustrate the various aspects of he feature/pattern in more detail. Each Summary page also links with the corresponding Image File pages that provide a file of illustrations.
