How is the relationship between trauma surgery and the Emergency Department?
“Excellent. Our trauma teams are composed of one half EM residents and one half surgery residents. The trauma teams have excellent communication during the resuscitations and we work very well together. We also have a three-month block combining trauma surgery, EM and the Surgical ICU. During these three months, we work hand-in-hand with the surgical residents.
