How is the range of work to be covered by Connexions agreed?
Connexions is a service that works in partnership with other agencies, including schools, to help remove barriers to participation and achievement in learning. It complements and extends but does not replace the support already offered to schools to help young people progress in learning. Alongside its statutory obligations Connexions offers a range of support which can be negotiated by individual schools. Formal agreement is via the annual partnership agreement process. Connexions also supports LEA and national targets on issues such as school attendance, substance abuse and teenage pregnancy, and these may be reflected in the partnership agreement.
