How is the provider-patient relationship created?
This relationship is created at the time of patient registration or referral. Patient registration can occur in multiple different times, including but not limited to: admission to the hospital, visiting the Emergency Department, checking in for a clinic appointment and having lab work or radiology tests completed. In addition, the relationship can be created when accessing a patient’s record in the full CIS.
