The process starts by scheduling an initial consultation or intake. The sitter responsible for caring for your pet comes to your home before the first engagement providing all parties an opportunity to meet one another and insure there is a sufficient level of comfort to move forward. If all parties are comfortable moving forward, a service agreement or contract is executed. This agreement details all the instructions for your pet’s care as well as owner, emergency contact and veterinarian information. This agreement also specifies the services to be performed, the fees for those services and when payment is due for the services rendered. The pet owner should be prepared to provide the pet sitter (1) proof of ownership of the pet, (2) proof that the pet is current on all required inoculations, (3) two copies of your house key(s), and (4) written instructions detailing the pet care required and protocol to follow.
