How is the process different from incineration?
Essentially incineration is a process that “burns” material, in the presence of oxygen, to produce heat that is converted into steam which is then used to drive steam engines or turbines to produce power. The pyrolysis process, however, “cooks” the material in the absence of oxygen to produce a gas which, after being cleaned, is used in an engine or turbine to produce power.
