How is the Probate Genealogist paid for his services?
The Probate Genealogist does not work for free. Identifying and locating heirs can be a long, slow process requiring countless hours of research and expense. Our services are compensated for by the Probate Genealogist. The Probate Genealogist is only paid once the estate has been settled. His/her fee is deducted from the estate as a pre-agreed percentage, usually 35% before taxes. In other words, you will be entitled to 65% of an estate which you may have never been aware of. The Probate Genealogist assumes all of the risk associated with the estate. Once again, you are not asked for any money and there is no risk to you. IV. What next? Once we’ve established contact, the Probate Genealogist will send you a ‘Disclosure of Inheritance Rights Contract’.
