How is the postal code or zip code used to determine latitude and longitude?
FanConcert has a database that takes a postal or zip code and returns an approximate latitude and longitude for that location. Right now this only works for postal codes in Canada and zip codes in the US. The location is good enough for most proximity calculations used on FanConcert but is not very accurate. You can override the approximate latitude and longitude derived from the postal code by putting in your own values.
