How is the PCSPI constructed, weighted, calculated and maintained?
PHOTON Consulting’s data methodologies and indexing models are proprietary and as such, details are not fully disclosed. PHOTON Consulting collects contract and spot pricing data from numerous sources including but not limited to silicon producers, consumers and traders under information sharing agreements that include strict data and source confidentiality covenants. The collected data is then weighted to reflect the nuances found in the length of reported silicon contracts, prepayments and price digression. The Index is generated, updated and published at 4pm EST on the 3rd Monday of each calendar month.
