How is the paraffin wax discarded, when required?

First, the wax can be used repeatedly for periods of up to several months at least, not requiring a regular change, other than the occasional top-up for wax absorbed by the tissue samples. The wax retort is fixed and has a concealed drainage outlet tap attached at the front. The drainage tap is accessed by opening the unit’s front panel cover (single access key movement). A bayonet connector with a long drainage tube is attached to the tap, allowing the wax to be drained by gravity feed into a container. Replacement wax is added directly into the wax retort.
