How is the ozone layer above Antarctica being damaged?
The ozone layer is being damaged due to chemicals that man has been releasing into the air since the industrial revolution. A lot of chemicals that man has made have gone into the atmosphere where the ozone layer is and have reacted with the ozone, breaking it down and making it less effective. This means that the earth is more exposed to radiation from the sun, which is of course dangerous for humans and others. There are many chemicals that had an effect, but these include CFCs particularly which may seem inert on earth but when they rise they do react with ozone under the conditions present in the ozone layer.
