How is the overall BULATS score calculated for the Standard and Computer-based Reading and Listening tests?
The overall BULATS score is not simply an average of the two section scores. The program uses encrypted look-up tables to calculate the overall score as there is different ability weighting attached to the two sections. If a result on the Listening section is 30 for example, and the score for the Reading and Language Knowledge section is 40, it will not necessarily follow that the overall result will be 70.
