If a student entered repayment in FY 1998, defaulted on his or her loan, and a default claim was paid by September 30, 1999, the loan continues to be counted as in default in the FY 1998 cohort default rate calculation, even if the student later enters into a repayment arrangement with the guaranty agency or repays his or her loan in full to the guaranty agency.
