How Is The Moon Responsible For The Tides?
Tides are caused by the gravitational force of both the moon and the sun. The tide produced as the consequence of the moon and the sun pulling in the same direction, is called the spring tide(occurs during the new or full moon of each month). It is the tide of maximum rise. The tide produced when the moon and the sun are at right angles to the earth, is called the neap tide(occurs during the first and third quarter of the moon).it is the tide of minimum rise.
