How is the McPhee Scholar/Valedictorian selected?

0

Students eligible to be selected as CBA valedictorian must have completed all graduation requirements in the spring, summer, fall or winter quarter immediately preceding the commencement ceremony. Students graduating in the spring quarter in which the commencement ceremony is held are eligible for valedictorian in the following year. Eligible students must commit to be available during the entire commencement ceremony. Normally the valedictorian will be the student with the highest grade point average of all students meeting the above criteria. Other factors such as total number of units earned by the student and/or number of quarters in which student attended Cal Poly Pomona may be considered. The CBA Dean’s Office makes the final decision on the selection of the CBA valediction.
