How is the mariachi scheduled?
• Many programs begin as an after-school activity, often funded through grant money. • Once established, programs usually become an official part of the music department; classes are offered during the normal school day and students receive class credit for participation. Some programs hold additional rehearsals after school or during evenings. • Many school districts have one or more mariachi teachers who travel between schools, teaching courses at various levels throughout the day.
