How is the local economy in Mexico?
Oscar Fitch: It is down, but not as bad as here. Our currency has been devaluated. Minister Elizondo: True, but in some places the economy is worse. Real estate sales near Cancun have stopped. Also Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta. Its not the hotelsthey are okay. But real estate is down. ET: What is the greatest part of owning a vacation home in Mexico? Oscar Fitch: Unlike other vacation destinations, in Mexico you wont need an air-conditioner or heater. Its very good value for the price. And the surroundings! It is always very nice. In Florida you would have to look for the nice surroundings and good weather. Mexico is prettier, and with great golf. The people are very nice, and we have a lot of labor to help you with your home. Mexico also has very good hospitals and doctors. ET: What initiatives at the high-end will you focus on next? Minister Elizondo: Now we are working on a new venture, medical tourism.
